The papers varied considerably. From sustainable infrastructure in flood-prone areas, flood forecasting systems and methods to prevent coastal erosion to integrated planning systems to spatial development strategies, floating cities and solutions for increasing risk awareness and preparedness.
The DeltaCompetition 2006 was won by a team from the TU Delft, the Netherlands. They presented the “Floating City” as a response to the challenges facing The Netherlands as the result of climate change.
After its success, Royal Haskoning has decided to run the DeltaCompetition every two years. The second edition is about to start! From January 2008, students from all over the world will be called upon to register for the DeltaCompetition.
