The Deltas on the Move

In the scientific report “Deltas on the Move”, the Dutch research programme Climate Change and Spatial Planning describes some of the main issues and challenges facing the deltas of the world. The EU presents its Green Paper

The European Commission presented its Green Paper “Adapting to climate change in Europe: options for EU action in June 2007. With this Green Paper, the EU puts adaptation on the agenda. The Green Paper discusses climate change, its action related to mitigating the causes, and the necessaity to also prepare for climate change and adapt to the consequences.Read more

World Bank presents climate change adaptation research agenda

The impact of sea level rise from climate change impacts could be catastrophic for many developing countries, especially those in the delta areas – the World Bank estimates that even a one meter rise would turn at least 56 million people in the developing world into environmental refugees. Climate change can cause real harm to the delta areas.Read more
